Today at the Woodville auction, was one male gelded mule that was supposed to be broke to ride (very skittish and hard to catch), one 3 yr old reg Appy gelding, halter broke only, and one gorgeous but sadly, very broke down Belgian mare. She had belonged to Mennonites and I was told that she was worked far too hard. I could tell from first glance that she was not right. Very handleable and sweet, she and I became friends, which made it even harder to not buy her. I know that anyone who knows me understands how hard this is for me. I don't know that anything that we could do would make her comfortable. She was purchased by the main meat buyer, the Mule and Appy were bought by the horse trader G.
